Samuel Connell, BA

Immunology Graduate Student
Biography
I am a graduate student in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Immunology and joined the Jabbari lab during the summer of 2020. Originating from Cedar Rapids, I came to Iowa City to go to the University of Iowa for my undergraduate degree. After finishing with school, I joined the dermatology department in the summer of 2015 where I worked with Drs. Janet Fairley and Kelly Messingham as a research assistant before heading off to graduate school in 2019, where I eventually found my way back to dermatology. I spend my leisure time on the couch and consider myself a chocolate enthusiast.

Research areas
  • My overall research interest is understanding the mechanisms behind autoimmune diseases with a particular interest in how effector T cells contribute to the development of autoimmune diseases of the skin.
